• Second is software engineering who makes the computer work

You can even choose electronical engineering for studying of part's. Difference between mechanical and electrical engineering is mechanical engineerings have more jobs in various fields like aerospace, automotive etc but electrical students only get the job in electrical based work

Electrical and electronics engineering (EEE) is an engineering discipline concerned with the study, design and application of equipment, devices and systems which use electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism.  And the other branch is ECE - electrical and communication engineering which also involves transfer of power and power related systems. EEE has higher demand in core electronics companies whereas ece candidates can also join IT companies.
