Hi Shahzad, Nowadays we are living in a technological world so some field is evergreen like CSE(computer science), IT(information technology), ECE, Mechanical etc.

According to the latest scenario, CSE(computer science engineering) is the top requirements for the students and also companies.in terms of placements also CSE is the evergreen filed.

good luck

Your question is a little vague so I will try to answer it by defining what I think you mean. I understand that you are asking what are the major fields of engineering and which are typically in demand. The traditional major fields of engineering are (arguably) mechanical, civil, chemical, and electrical of which electrical evolved into electrical and computer hardware. Computer science is major field often rolled in with engineering, but that varies widely. The job growth estimates for these major fields of engineering over the next 10 years are growing at close to the average for engineering, e.g. 711% according to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook. Another good source for learning about the engineering profession and jobs outlook is the American Society for Engineering Education and American Association of Engineering Societies.

If you are asking this question as part of your career planning and what to study in college I suggest reading statistics like the Bureau of Labor and Statistics for future employability and contacting organizations who employ engineers and start a conversation about engineering jobs to understand if engineering is a good fit for you. Generally engineers will always be in demand for the skills that they have. The exception to this could be if you get into a specialized branch of engineering that is offered at colleges as more of a boutique program like environmental engineering or renewable energy. This statement is NOT meant to in anyway devalue the skills of a specialized engineering degree. This is my opinion of the employability of this engineering specialization in industries which the number of jobs vary with the ever changing political climate. You can apply a degree from a traditional major engineering program to these specializations more easily than trying to rebrand yourself in a industry other than what is written on your diploma. As far as long term employability many engineers leave purely technical roles and take on leadership roles in organizations because they are excellent at solving problems systematically.
