For girls, computer engineering or IT Engineering are the best fields as you will get job really easily and none of the firms will reject you for being a girl. After this, you can opt for civil or electrical engineering too.

Nowadays, environmental engineering is also a good feild.

Mechanical and chemical engineering fields are the core fields of engineering and are always in scope, but the only problem is that you will have to struggle a little to get a good job. Though, you will definitely get a job, it won't be as easy as in other fields.

Taking about unemployment, it is just a result of unskilled engineers.
But, always remember that you can only be employed if you have good skills, no matter which branch you choose. Don't let your gender be a selection criteria, rather work hard and prove yourself.

If you want to get a good jib after engineering, the first thing that you should try to is that you must get admission in a good colleges.Nowadays, there countless unemployed engineering graduates sitting in home for job.Its a harsh realty that 50% of engineering colleges in india don't even give placement to 80% of their students.So, you must aim to enter in IITs or NITs to make sure you get a job after graduating.As far as branch is concerned in my opinion CS and IT sector will be good option considering India's growth is growing rapidly anxiety will grow even more in future.
But the best option is to choose a branch that excites you interests you more.
