I believe EEE and ECE are both comparable branches, have their respective importance and excellent scope and are taught in most of the Engineering and Technical Institutes in our country.

However from certain aspects ECE seems to be a better choice than EEE. Firstly the curriculum of EEE is more complicated and tough than ECE loaded with assignments and theories in most Technical Institutes. • A EEE student also has to study electronics along with electrical engineering but in ECE , students study about electronics and some part of communication engineering.

• In placement, the competition in EEE is not very hard and there are lots of jobs available. EEE graduates get job in Boards/Utility companies responsible for installation, maintenance, operation of power handling equipment and systems.
• In ECE , there is a huge scope for govt. jobs. An ECE graduate can find a job in Central Government, State Governments and their sponsored corporations, private industries dealing in manufacture, sales and services of electronics consumer goods and appliances.
• But if you are thinking about JTO, DRDO, ISRO and GATE then EEE is not a good choice because to apply for these EEE students have to study a lot of other thing apart from their course curriculum. But, for ECE students there wont be any problem as they have a different paper for ECE. Also, ECE students can take IES while EEE students can't.
