To get into engineering stream, you need to clear the JEE MAINS examination to get into state colleges and NITs and to get into IITs you need to clear the Jee Advance exam as well. Apart from this you also have state entrance exams like the Mht-CET exam for Maharashtra, GUJCET for Gujarat, etc for the state you belong to, together admission into state engineering colleges.

Yes you can get admission into Marine Enginerring through the IMU CET exam as well. IMU CET is a national level entrance test organized once in every year to offer admissions into various UG & PG courses. The admission is offered to the candidates qualifying this All India Common entrance test in Marine engineering field.
