Hello Khushboo,

The question can be judged on several paramneters. First, you should decide which one you enjoy studying more, PCM or subjects like Economics and Accountancy.

On the basis of board marks, both streams have scored very high percentages in the +2 boards, in the range of >98, in the past, so getting thru good colleges shall not be a problem if you study hard.

College wise, Science will offer the IITs, IISc, medical colleges, among others. Commerce will offer SRCC, St Stephen's, LSR, etc. Both of these groups have stellar placement records, so money should not be a problem either.

However, if you feel like you are stuck in a stream you do not love, you can always take exams like the CAT, IAS and the GMAT, where everybody works in a similar type of career irrespective of subjects studied.

Hey khushboo.

This question is a doubt nobody else apart from your own mind can solve. Choosing fields after 10th is like walking on your future roads.

See at every point of life, you'll get two paths. One of your choice and the other of God's choice. You may or may not like the choice you opt for, right now. But somewhere whatever is destined to happen will happen. So instead of wasting your precious time in thinking what to take ahead, I would suggest take a paper and pen. Right your dreams out. Paint your dreams out. Science or commerce are not the stones you need to step on, rather just get control over your mind and you shall see the soul dance.

After all: You are the creator of your own destiny.

So why not become the first Khushboo of your family and make your soul proud. Live for your dreams and not for the world's dream.

Thanks for asking this question.

I hope my answer could open your eyes and touch your mind to do something worthwhile. I'll be waiting for your kind reply after you read this answer.

Hello Khushboo,
It’s really very interesting question and Tanurshree and Namita had given fitting reply, and you will agree with this statement. But I wanted to add my point of view to this. As Namita has already told, “Nothing comes easy. So choose your stream wisely as per your interest not on basis of someone's suggestions.” So, if you have found your interest then choose according to that. Had I been in your place I would have opted Mathematics (Science). Because if someone had not yet made a decision about the career path this option will keep open almost all the options, whether one wants to go far Engineering or Management course or going for government jobs through competition route. Mathematics will make ones life easier in longer run. Even if someone is afraid of this subject he/she mush remember that “ डर के आगे जीत है।” One can take help of coaching to improve, instead of running away face the problem, take the bull by the horns.
Best of Luck!

Hello Khushboo,

It is one of the most difficult questions at this age. I would recommend you to tell me the ultimate goal you want to achieve.

Basically, people take many wrong decisions after their 10th just under the influence of friends or relatives.

  • The best way to choose your stream is to first know the goal you want to achieve. For example -I always wanted to be a manager at a company.
  • The next step must be to know what qualifications you need to acheive that goal. As in the same example I got to know I would need MBA for that.
  • The third step is to know the best colleges for that. I got to know about IIMs and other B-schools.
  • And finally select the stream according to the eligibility of the colleges. So I selected commerce as my stream.

Most of the people select their stream first and then find way outs from that stream which is the reason for stress and burden in life. I hope you understand my point . Even if you want to talk to me you can contact me at - ts.tanushreeseth@gmail.com. I would be happy to help.

Hope this helps.

Regards.

Hello Khushboo,

It all depends upon you. In both course, You have to work hard if you want to achieve something. Nothing comes easy. So choose your stream wisely as per your interest not on basis of someone's suggestions. Only your interest can keep you motivated .

Good Luck.
