Hey aspirant

In IAS Prelims, there are two papers-

  1. General Studies 1
  2. General Studies 2

After qualifying the prelims, th ere are 25 optional subjects in the IAS main exam and the candidates need to choose only one out of them.

  • Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science
  • Anthropology
  • Botany
  • Chemistry
  • Civil Engineering
  • Commerce and Accountancy
  • Economics
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Geography
  • Geology
  • History
  • Law
  • Management
  • Mathematics
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Medical Science
  • Philosophy
  • Physics
  • Political Science and International Relations
  • Psychology
  • Public Administration
  • Sociology
  • Statistics
  • Zoology

As you can see that there are all the subjects out of which you can choose one. So, make that target subject your strength and choose that subject for your Bachelor's and go for B.A. or B.Sc. as per your choice.

According to the IAS educational qualification required the candidates needs to hold graduation degree from any of the government recognized university. Candidates can hold a graduation degree in any discipline. The candidates whose final result for the graduation is awaited also considered qualified. So you can choose any group for becoming eligible to give IAS.
