Hello,
The most important thing to look for while choosing a stream in Engineering is whether you have a passion for it. Because no matter how popular a particular stream of Engineering maybe, but if you have no interest in it then it is less likely that you may succeed in it and enjoy your work. There are a lot of Engineers graduating every year, so unless you are good at it and have a passion for it and enjoy the work, there would be no use of selecting "the best engineering course".
For example Computer Science Engineering is a course that is widely popular and has a very good scope. The demand for software engineers is expected to increase, but if you do not have a passion for it and do not enjoy it, then there is no point in taking that course.
So my advice to you would be to take some time and read about all the different Engineering courses and see which attracts you, rather than going for a course which is popular and not of your interest.
Hope this was of some help to you.
Good Luck
