Hi, according to the query, the field of "scope" is incomplete. Hence, i would like to compare the 2 branches on both aspects- placement and higher studies. As far as placement is considered, Information technology is a highly demanding branch while biotechnology is an "increasing in demand day by day" type branch.Hence as expected, higher salaries are given in IT . Now if we talk about higher studies, both have equal opportunities provided you give your best shot while in B.tech.
