The faculty is much more supportive and sophisticated,more experienced and almost all are doctorate degree holders.
Exposure is given in both academic wise as well as co curricular activities also.
The college is good for overall development of a medical student.

Chengalpattu govt medical college is about 40+ years old and a well known institution. Agreed, it is not ranked as a top college , but it has its own reputation and there are aspirants, given a chance will wholeheartedly join this institution without questioning.
- A medical college is all the more intense. Considering the amount of exposure and the tremendous amount of effort needed to even pass the exams, the college sure does play a vital role. In that respect Omandurar Medical College is spot on.
- You get to be in the heart of the city in a completely air conditioned atmosphere with relatively fewer students which gives you a lot more space to study and discover a lot more about yourself.
- The library is well stocked with all latest books and you get a peaceful space to read your own books too. The faculty of the various departments are well trained and professional in their approach to the subjects.
- All the laboratories are well maintained and we'll trained assistants mean smoother sailing through practical experiments.
- Having said the best aspects of the college a small downside to it is that. It's still in its nascent stages. You will be joining as the 3rd batch in the college. Hence there are some aspects which are still being built and corrected as batches keep joining but the improvements are always made.
- The hospital attached to the college is a quarter mile away. Patient inflow is pretty good and hence clinical exposure is adequate. But this will surely increase when the hospital within campus is completed.
