If you only see in terms of placement then NIT Silchar is far better than Assam Engineering College which is ni Guwahati. In NITs you will get lots of opportunities rather than other colleges like AEC or any other college state level college.Nits even provide internship also for the students.

The average package for CSE at NIT silchar is 10.98 lpa and for other b.tech branches its 6.78 lpa whereas for AEC the average placement is aroun 4 lpa and highest is around 17 lpa given by PSU.

In comparing both the institutes in terms of placement NIT, Silchar is having better placement as compared to Assam Engineering College.

The reason for good placement in NIT is because of the Brand, NIT itself is a brand that is recognizable across the country. NIT, Silchar though doesn't come in the top NIT's but still it has a brand value.
