Hi there!
Both the branches, electrical and mechanical have high demands in today's world . Both of them are core branches. You can opt for research or even go for government services through both streams.
Electrical engineering is one of the core branches and traditional branches of Engineering. The government jobs for electrical engineering are in State Electricity Board, Indian Railways, BHEL, BSNL, DRDO, Indian Army, Indian Navy, etc.
After B.Tech in Mechanics , you can apply for government job posts in departments like- Indian Air Force, Indian Railways, Indian Army, DRDO, BHEL, Public Works Department(PWD) etc.
so both have equal opportunities. You should follow you passion and take the stream of your choice.
Hope this helps!
Thank you!
