- I do feel it is better to do DC pandey.. Specially DC pandey mechanics... It has concepts & many questions for practice. Personally, i think you will better understand physics when you do problems. More problems, more concepts . Good luck

The first book you must read is NCERT. Once you have mastered the basic concepts, then go in for reference material. H C Verma can help you develop your application skills; usually engineering aspirants refer to this book. DC Pandey is better for practice and HC Verma for concepts. You should choose a book in which you can understand the style of how the content is presented.

For your kind information both the books are really really good books. But level of HC Verma is a little higher whereas DC Pandey is relatively easy. I suggest you to go for DC Pandey first once you complete it then try to solve HC Verma if you solved both the books at least once believe me you will be surely going to score very good marks for sure...
