Electical engineering deals with electricity, electromagnetism, electronics, microelectronics, etc while ECE deals with electronics as well as transmission (analog and digital communication, microprocessors, microcontrollers, etc). Both these branches fetch good placements and packages. Students of both branches can appear for ESE and UPSE CSE exams but, an electrical engineer will have an edge over ECE student when it comes to ECE because, they get have the choice of optional subject.
