Dear Priyadhashini,
Both sectors are good if you have an interest in any one of them, but for your kind information, I would suggest that ECE is much better as compared to IT. Well, there is certain demand in IT sector but also the applicants who are pursuing in CSE branch are increasing which makes the competition tougher, while also increases the probability of less salary as there are already some IT engineers who are ready to work at low payscale.
An ECE engineer can also go in software companies, while, the IT sector engineer has only one choice left with him/her. Also, the make in India project has given a boost in ECE career. After pursuing a bachelor's in ECE you can go for a master's in CSE or ECE. While if you pursue a bachelor's in CSE then it reduces your choice.
Consequently, studying ECE is tough than CSE, if you're an average student then you should go for CSE.
In the end, it all depends on your choice and interest,
if you have more interest in Electronics, Circuit-Designing, Semiconductors, Voltage, Current, Resistors, etc. then go for Electronics.
if you are interested in Data Mining, Database Management, Manufacturing IT, etc. then go for Computer Science.
Because neither of the sectors is bad, both sectors have a growing economy and good opportunities in the future. By pursuing CSE you will get good jobs in IT sector in many MNC's.
And by ECE you can get good jobs in the government sector and companies also.
It all depends on you!
I hope that'll help you, best of luck for your further career prospects.
Hey,
IT is more related to CSE so if you had already decided that you want to pursue CSE then IT is a better option. Moreover IT syllabus is bit on the easier side than CSE. Now in IIITs IT is of course quite good. Similarly in some other college IT maybe a newbranch so it does'nt have goodfaculties whereas ECE does. My opinion will be ECE above IT . Also placements in ECE are quite good!
