Hello aspirant,

Mining engineering in NIT Rourkela has lost its glory ,boasting of highest package in the institute in early 2010’s. Now a day CSE,EC,Mech,EE have surpassed it by a greter margin. But still core heavyweights like CIL,HZL,Vedanta recruit students from mining engineering offering 7–10lpa package. Apart from these core giants there will be some mining companies like Rungata mines, and others offering something around 4.5- 5 lpa. Then there are analytics which would fetch good salary but without work life balance working for 12–15 hours a day.

Everything depends upon your PC(Placement coordinator) . If PC is hardworking and dedicated ,then that will surely have a positive impact on the placement statistics.

Coming to mining dual degree , students are allowed to sit for the placement of CIL ,HZL etc.

CSE dual has some upper hand on Mechanical dual in terms of placement statistics.
