In order to prepare for CAT you can do studying by yourself since preparation does not depend only on coachings.there have been students who have prepared for this examination by their own and also managed to score a very good percentile all by themselves. You can do the same, the only difference is that you would need to invest more time and greater hard work into your preparation. Coaching would be helpful in guiding you and providing you material at your hand that might help you in preparation but they are not mandatory. Coaching will provide you with teachers and coaches that will guide you towards achieving a good score but the true prepartion will have to be achieved through your own self study.

You can start preparing for CAT 2020 from the earliest time possible as an early start would allow you to prepare better with greater concentration. Remember to take time with your syllabus along with taking proper breaks in between. This will allow your mind to process the information and make it ready for more information to be taken in.

Depends on what your target is , here I'm mentioning for people who want to score between 95–99 % .

The best time of CAT preparation is the time when you make your AIM towards MBA.

For doing this , if you are preparing from home , iwould recommend buy correspondence material from some coaching . The material has been well designed , go through the concepts and then practice all the questions. I feel this material would be enough and you won't need any other material.

If you intend to join, some coaching , just follow whatever they tell and do all the sheets and bookl with full devotion without running for any third party material or such.

Thus by September end, you should be thorough with all the topics and should have gained decent speed and accuracy. Now the last two months are the most crucial.

Also, you ought to start some test series around August or September. Join TIME or IMS because they have most accurate tests as well as a large number of students give that , thus wouldn't give you a fair idea of your standings.

In the last two months , you should revisit all the topics as well as keep giving tests , atleast 3 a week so that till November end you have given aroused 25 tests. Also make sure to do thorough analysis of your tests and work on your weak areas.
