Visual Arts is a form of Fine Arts. The main difference in fine art and applied art is that fine art is intended to create beauty and pleasure in looking while applied art is intended to be an aesthetic approach to performing a specific duty.

If you are interested and want to make your career in fields like Painting, Drawing, Illustration, Comics, Conceptual Art, Dancer, Architecture, Sculpture and related fields, you should go for fine fine arts.

However, if you want your career in Art Teacher, Artist, Graphic Designer, Animator, Editor, Visualizer,Compositor, Layout Designer, Exhibition Designer, Furniture, Production artist, Photographer, Lecturer and related fields, you should opt for Applied arts.

I hope this helps you!
