I hope you are doing well, It is not a thing to compare that whether artificial intelligence is good or software development but if you want an answer i would consider software development to be good because to learn AI you must know Software development. Well it depends on your interest whether you are interested in developing software for industries or for your own startup or you are interested in Developing software that uses AI. Learning AI has its own advantage. As the technology is progressing, in future in every sector AI would be used. But to learn AI you must learn how to program and develop.
