Which is better branch Civil engineering or Metallurgical engineering in case of placement?
It totally depends upon your interest what you want to study and how you like that stream . If you dont have interest you can't concentrate. Speaking about the above question civil is the oldest branch of engineering and is definately one of the core branches of engineering and has more jobs in private as well as public sector whereas metallurgical is also good but it has a good reputation in only some colleges , so only there the placements are high.
But again saying choose which you like the most and dont go for placements.
Hope it helps...
Every branch is the best at it's place. There is no as such good or bad branch in engineering. Each branch comes with its pros and cons.
Metallurgical branch is the new emerging branch with more specialization than that of civil. Civil branch has been in the business since a very long time. since not many students are into metallurgy the competition in this branch is less as compared to civil branch. So, metallurgy becomes a plus point for students preparing for GATE. Since the civil branch has been there for a long time the job opportunities are more as compared to metallurgy branch. But, the competition for placements is also higher than the metallurgy branch as a large number of students opt for the civil field.
So, go for the branch you are interested in.
Hope it helped.
