which is better, bsc in computer science or btech in computer science? What is the difference in the job opportunities in both cases?
Hi Anant!
I would rather suggest you B.tech or B.E in Computer Science than B.Sc. B.Tech focuses on application of computer science subjects more than B.Sc. The curriculum is vast than B.Sc and they are designed as required by the IT industry.
If you pursue B.Tech in Cs, you are more likely to get a job in a company than B.Sc in Cs. You can even enter into teaching profession or pursue higher studies or apply for govt jobs too. If you do B.Sc in CS, you can do M.Sc and be a lecturer, can apply for govt jobs, can do research in Computer Science.
Dear Applicant,
Bsc in cs teaches you all about the basic of computer eg Disk Operating Systems, Control Structures and Programming Concepts. It doesn't deal much with coding. It's a 3 year course the topic they cover are usually B.Sc Computer Science Subjects
- Programming Fundamentals Using C++: C++
- Computer System Architecture:
- Data Structures
- Theory of Computation
- Design and Analysis of Algorithms
- Internet Technologies
- Computer Graphic
- Database Management Systems
While btech in CS will cover up all of coding with Data Structures, Operating Systems, Computer Architecture, Database Management Systems and Digital Circuits & System thus btech is much better to know about computers in depth this everything is cleared in 4 years. They teach all this subjects
- Programming Fundamentals Using C++
- Web Technologies
- Applied Chemistry
- Multimedia Technologies
- Applied Mathematics
- Applied Physics
- Algorithm Analysis & Design
- Management Systems
- Database Management Systems/Data Mining
- Theory of Computation
- Engineering Mechanics
The only + point for BSC is that it is a bit cheaper than btech. Otherwise btech is good
