Hello!

For IBPS PO and Bank clerk exams conducted public and private banks, candidate with degree of any stream or its equivalent, are eligible to attempt the exam and fulfil the job criteria requirement.

However, if you want to pursue a bachelor's degree with banking specializations, there are some courses available as:

  • BBA (Banking and Finance)
  • BBA (Banking)
  • B.Com. (Banking and Finance)
  • B.Com./B.Com. Hons. (Banking and Insurance)
  • B.Com. (Banking Management)
  • B.Com. (Banking and Taxation)
  • B.Sc. (Banking and Finance)
  • B.A. (Banking)

You can opt for any of these courses or you can pursue the degree in your area of interest, it can also secure banking jobs either.

Thank You

There are vocational courses provided by many institutes especially those operated by banking organisations and other institutes like NIIT, but still you need to pursue a bachelor's degree. After graduation there are also Post graduate diploma courses available.

The thing is in competitive exams like IBPS PO and clerk, the exam is same for students of all streams. If you have technical degree you can be selected for technical posts by applying for vacancies in bank and banks also conduct exams themselves for technical jobs. I am not saying that BCA won't help, it has it's own plus points but the thing that matters is, your interest, if you have interest in computer and technical field please go for it. There are also special posts for IT Officer, if you have interest in IT sector then go for B.Sc. (IT).
