firstly your choice should be based on your interest.

if you are not able to make a choice, then go for cse at iiits because cse as a branch is a more sort after branch in comparison to chemical.

the scope of employement is the IT sector is enormous.

also try for CSE at DTU OR NSIT.

Hope you are doing well. Both the things are almost equal. But nowadays chemical engineering is not preferred by much of them. All are going for CSE as it has a huge scope. But if you study chemical engineering from old NIT's, it will be of great demand as well. The choice is yours based on which subject you are interested in. I understand that chemical engineering have a good scope but cse override it.

So as per my analysis cse at new iiits are good but for good package and salary chemical engineering at old nits are still better.

So at final I say you can do chemical engineering at old nits.
