CSE includes learning about hardware and software of a computer, writing programs based on algorithms while artificial intelligence focuses on making machines capable to write algorithms. Computer science engineering can also be referred as a base for artificial intelligence but today AI can be independently studied as a separate subject. These two fields won't lose their demand in future too and none of them is second to other. One can say that to excel in AI one must know the basics of CSE.

Computer science students mostly deal with computer related programming but AI students are next level programmers they are highly experienced and skilled for programming computers, mobiles as well as robots.  So I would suggest you to choose AI it has a very good life and a very good pay scale
