Both are good but IT is better.
For girls IT will be better than ME because girls can work in a computer very well also if you learn programming well then there will be very much scope for you in the future.
Also the syllabus of IT is not enough like ME or CIVIL , so you can easily handle it with extra carriculam.
In india ther is more job to IT than ME.
But you can job in private sector only with IT.
Some programming you have to learn:
C , C++, JAVA , python etc.
