Dear Aspirant,

The Better choice of course should always be based over the job opportunities, which you will be getting after pursuing it.

So, if you are confused between the two, then I will suggest you to compare the job opportunities of both the courses incorroboration with your interest.

Here mentioned are the Options available to you:

Diploma in CSE is a 3 yr course , and the minimum requirement is 10th class. Though you can do that after 12 also but have a option after 10th too.

CSE will provide you with options like:

IT Support engineer, Technician, Software Developer, Network engineer, Database Administrator, Software Testing engineer, Software engineer/ Hardware engineer, software tester, web designer, App developer, project engineer, Telecommunication sector, armed forces, PSUs like HAL, BHEL, ITI.

Whereas BTech CSE is a 4 yr course and can be pursued after 12th.

BTech CSE is like a cherry on a cake because you will have all the career options of Diploma CSE as well as some more additions to it if you pursue BTech CSE and those are:

System analyst, Technical support engineer, you can work with Indian Railways under Signal Section,  BSNL( Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited), ISRO( Indian Space and Research Organisation), DRDO( Defence Research and Development organisation), ECIL( Electronic Cooperation of India Limited), AAI( Airport Authority of India).

None of the course is much less, it's just that BTech CSE provides you with some more additional career opportunities with all those of Diploma CSE.

Hope the information helps you.

Thankyou!

Good Luck!

To be very honest , for any aspirational techie it is more of a personal choice of approach to pursue the courses in question.

B.tech is generally after 10+2 and then a four year course, so six years you will be learning from the basic of mathematics that are used to explain technical concepts to the industry level skills for real life projects. In a nut shell it starts from basic of basics  to the professional end.  On the other hand in Diploma is not very detailed and it emphasizes more on making you industry ready. It is a great choice if you're very determined to be going ahead in the technical domain and wouldn't want to switch your career as it very job oriented. Now, the root of dilemma is because people generally head to engineering after diploma. This is because an individual having studied a subject in two courses is preferred in companies as they may have had mastered the subject by then. Hence, students who does diploma then B.tech and then finally M.tech in one stream e.g Computer Science are assumed to have fully mastered and are given good packages.

But Keeping in concern your dilemma between the two courses, I'd say better go for 10+2 and then B.tech . It will give you broader understanding of different subjects that supports the main subject as later on you'll have the answer to questions like "why". I have seen my batchmates in engineering who come from diploma background referring to the basics every time any concepts were taught as their foundation was weak. They were familiar with the subjects, there is no denying that but the grasp is better on the other side.

After diploma the jobs are not satisfactory and the relevant package is low so people are forced driven to go for a higher degree like engineering to get a better position even as a fresher.

The end calculation is same 10 years down the line for both courses but B.tech will give you far more exposure and confidence than diploma provided you get in a good recognizable college/University

Hello,

If you will do diploma in Engineering then you will have to appear for lateral entry examinations after diploma to complete your B.Tech from second year itself. But if you will do BTech directly then you can simply complete your graduation in four years from any specific college. You can also appear in JEE mains for both exam but after completing diploma you can only get admission in IIT through JEE advanced but you will go for B.Tech then you can also get admission through JEE mains in NIT,IITS and GFTIs.

I hope this helps
