We have a lot of examples of engineering who are millionaire and also we have a lot of examples of doctors who are millionaire. So it is not the course to make you enough to earn more money, but your passion and hard work will.

Comparison between to copletely apart professions won't be correct because earnings depends on how you performed during your course and how are you doin it in your job. But to answer your question; engineers are the higher paid when we consider the highest paid ones but they also go to the lowest points so the average comes down to a base. Considered as the average income doctors are the higher paid between the two professions as they are never less paid and arguably never unemployed.
