Which is better for academics and placement - Manipal or SRM

Manipal's Engineering is not world class, but it does the job and the placement scene is pretty good here. Go for Manipal over SRM for the following reasons:

1. Manipal is intercultural - people will be from all over India. You will learn a lot about the whole country and the language, the ideologies, the beliefs and faiths of Indian population. Whereas SRM being in Chennai is heavily conservative due to its location. Chennai does not foster such a rich culture and people just use the local language heavily. The mindset too is conservative there whereas in Manipal it is free.

2. University town - Manipal is a self sufficient university town. Which means the whole campus, all roads everything can be accessed SAFELY at any time. There is very less traffic and access to all facilites are within walking distance. It is like a city without the hustle bustle.

MANIPAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY:-

EDUCATION:-

This is the best college in terms of higher education.I am saying it as the best because here professors treat you as their own children and really want your progress.They will try to motivate you and at the same time they will give you the best, what they can. If you go to IIT’s, then you will notice that most of the professors don’t bother about your result. If you are doing good its ok and if you are not doing well then also its ok. But thats not the case here.

LIFESTYLE:-

The hostels in Manipal campus are common for students of Engineering and Architecture. Hostels are excellent with best of facilities.

-24x7 internet connection(Right now it is provided by ION but soon it is going to be given by JIO)

-24x7 hot water supply

-Water coolers on each floor

-Common rooms with T.V s(time permit to watch TV is till 11:30 pm and when any football or criket match is there then you can watch till 1 or 2 also.All depends on caretaker)

-Facility to play indoor games like Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess, etc

-Cleaning of room on alternate days.

-Immediate first aid in case of emergencies and ambulance (if required) will turn up within 5 mins of call.(24 X 7 Ambulance facility)

-Night Canteens which are open uptill 1 am

-Washing machine service (pay per use)(Only available in girls hostel)

-External laundry agencies come to the hostels daily (per use/membership) and return within 1–2 days

SRM

The thing which I want to say that yeah its a good university but still it is far behind that MANIPAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, MANIPAL. Either you can see the placements of Manipal or SRM, you will find MANIPAL AT BETTER position than SRM. Actually SRM is even WORSE than VIT.But still I will say that SRM has the ability to progress and yeas one day it might give tough fight to VIT and MIT also.

Both college are private colleges.

Few parameters for comparison-

1) Faculty- Faculty in both the college is good but more friendly in Manipal.

2) Crowd- This is the best part of Manipal . The students in Manipal are better than in SRM.

3) Extra curricular- Both colleges are active in it but Manipal has more no of clubs and research environment is better is Manipal whereas in SRM nobody talks about research and all.

4) Infrastructure- I'm this regard SRM wins.

5) Placement- placement are lot better in Manipal than in SRM. Even big giants are coming in Manipal. Also no of Good placement offers are more in Manipal.

Overall according to me Manipal is better than srm
