Both of these fields Biotechnology and Microbiology are very good for the career opportunity. But as far as we talk about choosing one in between these two, Biotechnology is better! As biotechnology degree opens up many doors in career like industrial process, management,and many more. It is very vast subject and it covers wider range of subject choices, even microbiology is covered under Biotechnology. Whereas, microbiology is just a reaseach based field. It includes jobs in fields of agriculture, pharmacist, Medical and other. Microbiology is subjective and flexible whereas Biotechnology is more career based.

Hello student ,
As you know biotechnology is wider subject and it almost covers microbiology topics in it .Where as micro biology is the basic subject which deals with the life cylcles of microbes . So after 12th I will suggest you to go for biotechnology as it offers different types jobs in different field like it is easier to go into forensic science or Marine Biology or Pharmaceutical Studies or Environmental Sciences with Bachelors in Biotechnology rather than Microbiology.
