first cse computer science engineering has its main and prime foucus computer you can say it to be specialised sub branch of ece but since its a specialised it deals with some topics core computer in advance to major topic of ece.electronics and communication enginerring is more core subjects based branchalthough the branch electronics cover the major aspects of cse also, but it has an advantage- the later part that is communication part as it has two engineering in one elctronics + communicationthis part we know alreadynow lets get to real deal subject same in first year in second year subject differentiate ece has subject like analog and elctric field signal and system(tough) and cse has foundation of computers alogorithem design and graphics In third year Ece has control system , digital communication etc and cse java , web development etc so there is a change in subjects but i would like to remind you for placement in I.T.(tcs infosys wipro tech-mahindra) company the subject required or asked are c,c++(oops),data structure ,dbms,operating etc are covered in both cse and ece

hardness

people always will say and feel ece being more tough than cse i beg to defer both are equally hard when it comes to study if you dont try hard you will even fail in arts section

jobs

its the only point where ece has clear cut advantage ece will not only allow you to qualify for elctronics job but IT jobs ,comunication ,psu (public sector unit),and some of computers also except core computers

My Suggestion

if you have an iota of doubt in favour of cse then go for it  if you took ece and yours interest is in cse you will make your life hell for three years but ece has job advantage for sure and a label that it is tougher than cse also

The current era is all about technology. Age of machine learning, big data, etc.



My personal opinion - Go for CSE if that is your interest. It is your job to convince your parents and I am sure that you can do it. Evenually, parents want you to be happy and successful in  a your career.



My parents also wanted me to go for ECE because of relatives and all. But I didn't go for it.

CSE and ECE are the top most branches in Engineering. CSE is the most preferable branch among students and it has huge job opportunities. If you are interested in CSE you should go for it.
