CSE has become one of most sought after branches in engineering due to its lucrative campus placements and more particularly in IITs. So you need not to worry about the package after placement at all. During the placements, if you'll really outshine your batchmates with your talent then you may be offered one of the highest package jobs, be it in any IIT.

IIT Bombay and IIT Madras, both are incomparable. Both are the best, have the best infrastructure, huge opportunities, and offer great campus placements.

Here are some of the previous years' placement records of IIT Bombay and IIT Madras.

In the 2017-18 placement season, 256 companies visited IIT-Madras and made 968 offers to undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. students. Overall, 832 students (70%) got placed. 73.96% B.Tech students and 81.03% Dual (B.Tech+M.Tech) Degree candidates were placed, respectively. Citi Group was the top recruiter, making 25 offers. Other top recruiters were Intel, EXL Services, Flipkart, and HCL Technologies. The highest package of Rs. 95.87 lakh was offered to a Computer Science department student.

In 2017-18, IIT-Bombay student received the highest package offer of Rs. 1.39crore from Microsoft, followed by Uber's offering Rs. 99.87Lakhs during the first phase of placements. That year the average salary package was Rs. 13Lakhs in IIT Bombay. Goldman Sachs, Qualcomm, IBM, Microsoft among others made the highest number of offers. Overall, 60% of students were placed.
