Nit kurukshetra have a better ranking and placed in higher place in compare to iiit pune.
Placement is better in nit kurukshetra. Average salary package offer in nit kurukshetra is 6 to 7 lakh per annum. While highest is 21 lakh per annum. Around 70 to 80%of student get placed every year. Top companies visiting are mahindra, eicher,maruti ,hero etc.

ECE has a more job perspective than production engineering.
Now if you are interested in Electronics and circuit kind of stuffs do pursue ECE. If you are more interested in production and marketing then Production will be a great perspective you.
Always remember that studying a subject which you are not interested in but you just studying it beacuse of a great college then it will do no good. Pursue what ever you like and thus you will suceed.

NIT KURUKSHETRA is a very old and reputed NIT which is currently at 6th rank in all the 31 NIT'S .
Production engineering at NIT KURUKSHETRA is a good branch which will a have a bigger scope in the coming years and it is a field which will grow in quite a good way. The average package is 6.25 lakhs which is appreciably high and there are good opportunities in this branch. The highest package this year has been whopping 18 lakhs!!!!.
Of course CS, in present scenario, is a branch which has greater number of opportunities than any other branch .
So, if you are from north india, then I will recommend you to go with NIT KKR.
