Which is better ipu me cs or thaper me electronics and computer engineering
If we talk about tha par the first thing which comes to our minds is mechanical engineering, therefore, considering thalar for electronics or computer engineering is somewhat out of context. Whereas if we talk about ipu me cs then ipu has this perception of a regular good quality engineering college. Thus ipu me cs is better than thapar me cs or electronics.
- IPU
Infrastructure : The infrastructure is excellent no doubt. The buildings are all new wth no tempering. There is a very clean environment here in Dwarka as the sanitation department works really hard to clean the entire campus. There is free Wi-Fi in libraries, labs and also in the hostels. Every single student gets a separate room in the hostel (no sharing), and the canteen is air-conditioned, but the food is not so good. There are recently opened Amul Dairy and Nescafe outlets here.
Faculty : This university is not different from any other government university. The faculty team is genuine except some really hard working and concerned professors. Many students feel like the course is not well-developed as in computer science, they have to study many rubbish subjects of ECE and I really dislike that. The faculty team is helpful generally.
Other : This university is really beautiful. If you are good in sports, you will get many opportunities to enhance your skills. The hostels are well-maintained and provide many facilities which make it feel like home. Self-study is a must in order to get good scores. If you do well in the course and extracurricular, you will get placed definitely.

Placements : Placements in college are pretty good. The average salary package offered is around 6.5-7.5 LPA, and it is offered to computers, electronics and ENC students. The highest salary package offered this year was 39 LPA, and it was offered by Microsoft to almost 6 students. There were around 3-4 companies which offered salary package more than 25 LPA. There are also companies that provide internships to 3rd-year students, but they are low in numbers.
Infrastructure : The infrastructure of the college is good, and some new classrooms are being built here. Medical facilities, sports, library and Wi-Fi are available here. However, there is an issue with internet speed. Classrooms and labs are good.
Faculty : The teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable. They do help students if he/she approaches the teacher because it is not possible for them to help everyone in a class of 250 students. The students are taught in smart classes.
Other : There are lots of events being carried out during the whole year. The campus crowd and surroundings are good. There are lots of extracurricular activities available for the students.
All the best
Hope this helps
Hello Mayukh,
Well, Thapar University is the best university around to pursue B.Tech. It is better than best.
But yeah we have to look at another point, too. The Electronics Stream is not green now. There are very less scope of Electronics wehn compared with CS in a good college. Of course if its Thapar, then you can expect better company visits to get placements.
But on the other hand like I said. Electronic Stream is not that green now.
Now, if we see CS in IPU. If you are getting CS in a fine college like Maharaja Aggarasen or Maharaja Surajmal Institute then go for it. There is a high chance of placments for CS studensta there. And if you are not getting any good ranked college in IPU then go for Thapar University.
Both the Colleges are fine, make your choices wisely.
Thank you.
