Hi,
Balaji Institute of Modern Management (BIMM)
Sri Balaji Society is an educational brand, offering a wide array of courses that students can choose from. Sri Balaji Society, not only aims at grooming students into professionals but, into individuals who lead their life with Discipline,
There are 4 main colleges for an MBA, Balaji Institute of Modern Management (BIMM) and Balaji Institute of Telecom Management (BITM), Balaji Institute of Management and Human Resource Development (BIMHRD), and Balaji Institute of International Business (BIIB).
Infrastructure : Campus is huge and spread across a sprawling 16 acres area near the Mumbai-Bangalore highway. Students have access to high speed internet, gym facilities, Wifi and a pool. There are spacious classrooms, state of the art computer labs, library and all necessary infrastructure facilities. Library has a plethora of books, electronic resources such as e-journals, market research books and financial data. There is also access to a Digital Library.
Faculty : The faculty to student ratio is 1:55. Teachers are qualified and helpful. They have tremendous amount of exposure and experience. . Great quality education is provided as it is a mix of classroom learning, practical exposure, lectures by industry professionals and a case based learning system. There are lots of industry visits and emphasis on practical learning.
Placements : Balaji Society is a Tier 3 college in Pune, placements in the college are average. The average CTC offered for the 2017-19 batch as of now is around 7.38 lakhs p.a. however, better than any other tier 3 B-schools. The batch size is around 1000 students which is very huge. Nearly 350 companies visit the campus for placements and internships. Companies like Deloitte, HDFC, HCL, ITC, Mahindra Finance, ICICI, Colgate, and Capital First, etc., visit Balaji Society campus regularly.
Pune Institute of Business Management (PIBM)
MBA at PIBM is affiliated to Savitri Phule University and it follows norms given by the university. The entire curriculum is as per university standards. MBA students are given an opportunity to do SIP (Summer Internship Program) and WIP (Winter Internship Program) with other PGDM students.
Placements at PIBM start in the third semester and majority of the students get picked up by various recruiters. The highest package is around 15 Lakhs p.a, the lowest is around 4 Lakhs p.a, and the average CTC is around 6 Lakhs p.a. Companies from sectors such as FMCG, IT, BFSI, Consulting, Manufacturing and so on visit the campus for placements. These companies provide profiles such as relationship management, core marketing, marketing and finance analytics, sales executives, management trainees and so on. All the students get opportunities to get placed in the internship program.
But when it comes to BIMM vs PIBM, I would advise you to take up BIMM as the amount of opportunities that they will offer is substantially huge. The program at BIMM is rigorous and will put you in good stead for the future.
But please note that Balaji Society is an average college with average prospects. There will be lots of opportunities with regards to placements, but the huge batch size will be tough to cope with. It is a decent option to have, but if you have any converts from Tier 1 or Tier 2 colleges, please consider your options.
Hope I have helped you. In case of any queries, feel free to reach out to me. Thanks!
