Hello ,
As your query is to take admission in the B.Tech program and you are confused in between the branch Mechanical and Civil Engineering. I would like to tell you, in the case of placement and career option both the branches Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering make not much of a difference, the package is same or in comparison there is not that much kind of difference, whereas talking about the career option both of them have varied options both in private as well as government field but moreover it all depends upon the college you are looking forward to take admission.
Since I am also an engineering student and for me what ever had seemed, in my opinion going with Mechanical Engineering would be a better choice because after pursuing Mechanical Engineering in during phase if you complete few of the languages courses of programming then somehow you are eligible for the IT Industry jobs as well in my opinion going with mechanical would be best in comparison, but since at last it is all your call then you need to decide and it somehow depends upon the college even you are looking forward to take admission.
Further, if you have any other query regarding the same you can let me know in the comment section below.
I hope your query is solved.
Thank you.
