Greetings, aspirant!
Both CA and CS are highly prestigious professional certifications. They are both very difficult and have their own merits.
Based on difficulty levels, CS examinations are primarily theory based and involves retaining and understanding company law to a great extent. Moreover, the amount of participants that pass the examination in their first attempt is very low.
CA on the other hands involves theory AND practical knowledge in many fields. CA examinations, too, are extremely difficult to crack and experience a very low number of participants passing on the first attempt.
As for duration, CA includes an internship for 3 years before an aspirant can attempt the final level of the course whereas a CS aspirant starts their internship after their final level is cleared. This leads to CA being longer in duration. If an aspirant fails to attempt the examination in the first attempt, the duration of the course increases as much.
As for the salary, CAs on an average get paid more than CSs. However, the difference in their average salaries is not very large.
In the end, it comes down to your preferences and conveniences. Whether you choose to pursue CA or CS should be dependent on your likes and dislikes.
Hope this information helped you!
Best of luck!
