Physics and chemistry is the best combination with geology because both subjects are fundamentals of geology.

It depends upon the university course curriculum which subjects they can offer with geology. Most preferable is mathematics and physics. Although, if it's a honours degree in geology, we will have study geology only along with one subsidiary subjects like mathematics, physics , chemistry, computer applications and some times technical English too. While some of the university like BHU offers combination based on your ranks which includes mathematics, physics, chemistry, statistics, zoology and geography.
