IIT'S :-
-> In open category, to get CSE in top 5 IIT's, your rank should be under 250.
-> Rank under 700 gives CSE branch in all AVERAGE IITs
-> Rank under 100 gives CSE in IIT delhi
-> And rank under 60 gives the BEST THING POSSIBLE in India : CSE Branch In IIT BOMBAY.
-> You need atleast 2.5 - 4.5 thousand rank to get in worst iits (but even worst iit are better than best private college and many nits, gfti).
NIT'S :-
-> To get CSE in NITs your rank should not exceed 5,000.

I am hoping that you are absolutely fine. As per your mentioned query , see the minimum rank varies for different iits. It is important to know that for which iit you ask for. But as the common criteria in general category for opting the IITs is rank 1 to 2251. So , for taking admission in iits , nit you have to work more hard for acquiring good rank.
