JEE MAINS : it is an objective based exam so time management and accuracy is the key point and for this exam NCERT BOOKS are sufficient.

JEE advance is considered more tough that JEE main. According to a survey, JEE advance is among the top 3 most difficult exams in the world. But now due to new government rules, it has asked NTA to reduce the level of JEE main and advance so that more and more students can qualify the exam, and the seats that remain vacant in IITs and NITs due to lack of students can be reduced.
JEE advance is based on the deep understanding of concepts. It is more of practical knowledge and concept application based, whereas JEE main, is more of theoritical and conceptual base.
hope this helps
