I have personally used Arun sharma and it's the best available Quant book in the market.

It increases the level stepwise and starts right from the beginning, and is ideal for people who are novice and at am advanved level.

It has LOD 1 2 3 which gives you different levels of preparation and also it provides past papers for preparation. It gave me an edge in Cat while I was preparing for it. Even if u can do upto LOD2 its worth it.

Just go for it.

All the Best

Hello Abhinav,

I have personally used both Arun Sharma and Sarvesh Verma both books for Quantitative Aptitude.

According to my observations,

Arun Sharma QA book has great description in a very easy language about the concept, along with the level of difficulty level questions namely LOD 1,2,3.

LOD 2,3 are quite tough and are CAT level questions along with practice questions at start of chapter.

I would suggest you to go with Arun sharma as it wil give much more clear picture , Once you're done with arun sharma you can go for sarvesh verma for practicing more questions, but start with Arun sharma book.

I hope this answer helps you.

All the best.

Dear Abhinav,

Both the books are industry standards when it comes to cat preparation. You can choose either of those depending upon availability. The theory part given in both the books is really helpful in solving questions and please attempt the questions while devveloping strong concepts along the way.

If you have already startes off with Quants preparation and you need higher difficulty level to crack, I suggest go with sarvesh Varma.
If you're at just intermediate level, go with Arun Sharma, questions are clear concise and Lucid explanation is given for better understanding of fundamentals and Steps for approach.
You can also refer books by nishit Sinha for Quants and Data Interpretation as there are quality numereical problems in this book.
Make sure you give ample of mock exams every month.
All the Best.

I have personally found Arun Sharma to be very good for QA for the following reasons:

1. Test at the beginning which shows where you stand with respect to your current knowledge about the basics/concepts.

2. Great description in a very easy to understand language about the concept.

3. Great set of practice examples in the beginning of each chapter.

4. Mastering level 2 questions will give a good command over the topic, which has a decent different types of questions.

I hope this answer helps you.

Both the books are nice but I will prefer Arun Sharma as the quality of questions are nice and explanation given is also in good manner. So you can definitely try it and don't stop after attempting this books questions only becuase it will only help you in making your basics strong.

Make sure after this you go through online mock tests or join CL, TIME coaching's test series. This will help you in coming up with a strategy to attempt your paper. Also with analysis of mock paper you will get to know about your strength and weakness which will help you grow your marks and percentile.

All the best!

Both the books are good with regard to practicing quant for cat. But Sarvesh Sharma is tougher than Arun Sharma for quant. So if you are already good in basics and concepts go directly for Sarvesh Sharma. But if you want to work for basics as well then go for Arun Sharma
