hello Mainak,
I am very happy that you have asked this question so early because you pretty much time to decide. So look first thing that you should remember before choosing any branch is the interest. For example, if your having interest in physics and maths then you should go for mechanical engineering as it is an evergreen branch. If you don't like physics but do have interest in programming then you should choose CSE or IT. I telling you this because whatever the high scope of a branch you are opting, if you don't have the passion to learn about it, then you are going to be a bad engineer. In the end, you will always regret it. So first thing first choose what you like .
Now coming to the scope of different branches. it depends on your interest & capability. Some of the core branches you can prefer:
CSE: It is all about development & coding, which needs CSE engineers in drove. Most of the job opportunities are for CS engineers in India. The expected salary for freshers is from around Rs. 3 Lakh PA to Rs. 5 Lakh PA for jobs. The package also depends on the institute & the organization.
ECE: An electronic engineer can find a job in Telecommunication & IT industries, Internet technologies, Power Electronics, and other industries like steel, petroleum and chemical industry. The salary range for EC freshers from around Rs. 2.5 to Rs. 3.5 Lakh PA. It also depends on the institute & the organization.
EEE: Electrical & Electronics engineers can work in wide range of fields such as power generation, electronics, computers & control systems, telecommunication. The starting salaries for electrical engineer freshers range around from Rs. 3 Lakh PA to Rs. 4 Lakh PA.
ME: Mechanical engineering, as I said the scope is always high. They can work in fields such as steel, metal, forging, automobile, and mining. All these industries require steady inflow of fresh Mechanical engineering graduates. The starting salaries for mechanical engineers range from around Rs. 2 Lakh to Rs. 4.5 Lakh. It also depends on the institute & the organization.
Civil Engineering: Civil Engineers have usually required in every field some of them: Government Departments, Local Authorities, Civil Engineering Contractor, Civil Engineering Consultants.
But one branch which is going to get an increasing boom is, I feel robotics and mechatronics. Robotic and automation sector is currently in infant stage but in future, it's going to do a lot of impacts.hope you find this Information useful and have a great future ahead.
