First of all, it depends on your interest. Secondly, every department (branch) holds its own future scopes, offerings etc. Take some time to analyse about them. You will find the way.

I simply depends on whats your future plans.

If you thinking for good package and job security then go for CS,M&C ,ECE,EE.

If you want to go to PSUs then ME,CL,CE,EE.

For Indian Engineering services Many core Branches Excluding CL.

Research there are lot of opportunities in almost all the branches but not in India.

If you are planning to go for Civil services then Take core branches like Civil, Mechanical.

If you are someone who are just doing engineering as buffer zone between MBA and 12th or something like startups then take Branch which needs least efforts stay away from CS, Mathematics, ECE,EE.

There is absolutely no such department which is the best.All the departments have somewhat the same scope.Going by the present trends,the circuital branches have great scope in MNC's and Core branches have great scope in the core sector (mainly in PSU's).However,I would like to suggest that don't select a branch by looking at what it offers,rather than go for the stuff in which you are interested in.Every branch has the potential to take you beyond the horizon if you work hard.So,identify what are you good at and realise where your interest lies and choose accordingly.All the best.
