Though it is difficult tosay that which department is best in terms of placement but now ECE and CSE department are quite good in terms of placements.

You can opt for IEM Kolkata or HITKolkata for such department.

Computer, IT, EC and IC have maximum amount of placement in most of Campus as there all are emerging and necessary streams.

Since the world is full of coding based CSE and IT are best.

But others stream will depend on College to College .

In SVNIT College Mechanical Engineering is also have good placement record.

If you Selected SVNIT then you can choose.1) Computer Science 2) Mechanical Engineering 3) Chemical Engineering 4) Electrical Engineering 5) Electronic Engineering.

one thing was engineering it self was a good stream were we invent new things every stream has its own royality civil for construction ever green ,mechanical for its automibile industries ,cse and IT for the software and hardware solutions and all the remaining branches has uniqueness in that stream it was not as good placements you have to see you have to look which field satisfies your life which stream apt to your knowledge concentrate on that if you intrested in particular stream go with dont relay on the placements because it doesnt makes you happy in life work on intrested field it gives you self satisfaction all the best

Currently most students choose computer science engineering as their branch these days but no branch is less or big.

It all depends on your skills and interest.

Highest placement if i consider iits then it goes to iit bombay

And in only private colleges there are many colleges.

See if you are looking from the point of view of ease of placements, I would highly recommend Computer Science, Information Technology and Electronics and Communication etc because there's a huge boom in the demand for software and IT specialists. The software companies are expanding at a rapid pace. In terms of packages too, these streams offer good packages to the students.

For placements, it's about the brand value of the college. Colleges such as IITs, NITs, IIITs and BITS etc which have a strong reputation attract a good number of companies with placement offers.

Every stream has it's own value.For different streams placement field is different.But Cse &it departments are most preferable for placement because now you know everywhere software companies present.But now demand of ece ee are growing up due to automation projects.

If you want go for best college then you can prepare for iits and nits.
