both of these a really good in their own aspects and it basically depends upon your choice that you want to go in fashion designing or in fashion technology.  both are emerging fields and both are needed in coming future . this is a kind of field who are always going to exist in the market. You are well aware what is fashion designing until a designer one designer cloth how clothes are gonna be there in the market. So fashion designer is much needed . fashion technology it also have its own aspects and it is more computer based so  clear thoughtfully in which subject you want to to grow and in which you have you interest. Both of these courses are good career choices. However, they both are quite different from each other. Fashion designer is a bit artist like job and there is not much technicalities there. On the other hand, fashion technology is a full fledged course of 4 years and involve use of many software and computer science.

So if you are interested in the artistic part go for design but of you're interested in technical part then go for fashion technology. The latter will be more profitable in terms of salary, rest is all upto talent.

Dear Durga, to be honest, with technology advancing in every field, Fashion technology will be the perfect choice if you are into creativity and you have a thinking and analytical mind. I can design my own clothes and call myself a freelance fashion designer. But to get into the intrinsics of the fabric, knowledge of incorporating technology so as to create masterpieces, I cannot pull it off unless I have had theoretical knowledge and practical exposure. It is too easy to want to become Ralph and Lauren or our own Sabyasachi. But it takes a creative fashion technologist as how to use a certain fabric to suit a certain methodolgy of designIng. You will be the brain of a costume if you study to become a fashion technologist.
