Which is the best suitable MBA specialization after B.E in mechanical engineering. Is MBA in international business suitable?
Hello Sameer,
Best specialisation for an engineer would be operation management reason being :
- Easily understand.
- Upper hand in placement.
- Preferred background.
- wide scope.
Most preferred college are IIT , NITIE, IIM for doing it.
It basically depends on your interest, many after being engineer choose to opt Marketing as specialisation, which is also good choice.
Hope it clears your doubt. All the best.
Hi Sameer,
I understand it might be difficult to choose a particular field of interest in MBA especially when you are from a technical background. But we do have a solution to your query.
The best option to choose for your MBA specialization is Operation management. After completing your B.E in mechanical, the stream of operations management can be the best extension of your past studies. MBA in operation management will give you exposure in various areas of business operations and functions.
Operation management can involve subjects like Supply chain management, logistics management, inventory control management which will be helpful in elevating your career.
If you want to pursue an MBA with International business, then you must consider studying subjects like principals of foreign trade, Export and Import management, Licensing and Franchising and many more. And studying subjects like this make you a good Business manager, Importer or Exporter.
While if we were to compare both of these streams considering your past education, an MBA in Operations management will make you more adept and elevate your career more efficiently than the one in International Business.
However, while choosing out of these you must take into account your own interest of subjects and capabilities as both these fields require candidates with strong knowledge and skill sets.
According to the current situation, Operation Management and International Business are both booming but Operations are much more in demand with good salaries and work experiences as it involves the technical part of the business and your bachelor's in mechanical makes you a suitable student to pursue Operations management as an MBA specialization.
All the best for your future and feel free to ask if you have any other question.
