Both the degrees are the same. I think you are trying to mention “Aeronautical Engineering(4 years) and Aircraft Maintenance Engineering or AME(3 years)”. Now they both differ.

More Pilot training has nothing to do with these both. Those for candidates who wish to become engineering technicians. To become a pilot one should get a class 2 initially and then class 1 medical license(for advanced training) and then apply for a flying school or cadet programs; complete the required pilot theory papers(Air Nav, Aviation Met, Air Regs, Tech Gen, Tech Specific) and then start to fly to complete 200 hrs of flying in various categories(like dual, solo, night dual, night solo, cross country, etc) and then obtain a CPL, Commercial Pilot License(passing theory + logging 200hrs). You can now apply to airlines or just we can simply say that you are authorized to fly commercially on your own.

Thus any type of degree doesn’t matter to become a pilot. The basic qualification is 10+2 with mat and physics stream, 17 yrs of age and ability to obtain the above mentioned medical license. And to emphasize more these degrees won't find you any special places during pilot recruitment, the total number of hours you have logged flying will do. Rarely airlines or corporate flying industries can take notice of your degree in aero or AME which might be a special interest for them in preferring you. But it will happen rarely in the recruitment process. Sometimes advt. can be like “recruiting pilots with a university degree or college experience” without mentioning any specific degree. So for conclusion, it depends solely on the Employer who is recruiting
