Questions in UPSC General Studies Paper 1 is asked from Current events of national and international importance, History of India and Indian National Movement, Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World, Indian Polity and Governance Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc, Economic and Social Development, Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc, General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity, and Climate Change – that do not require subject specialization, General Science. To prepare these topics you can refer to the following books.

  • NCERT books IX, X, XI, XII

  • Modern India by Bipin Chandra

  • History of Modern India by A.C Banerjee

  • General Principals of World Geography by Charles Farro

  • An Evolution of Indian Economy by I.C. Dhingra

  • Economic Survey of India by Govt. of India

  • An Introduction to the Constitution of India by D.D. Basu

  • Newspapers
