see for b.tech courses in India the most preferable colleges are IITS, NITS, IIITS, CFTIS, jadavpur university, vit vellore, IIEST shivpur. you may learn about more at the below link:

The colleges I have mentioned has many of the alumni who are selected in top foreign university to do m.tech or phd or ms courses. however you must have good academic records, as well as good qualifying score in exams like ielts, toefel, gre which ever is applicable for selected university. now coming to branches of engineering it does not matter. however select the course which Interest you the best.
