The tortoise has the longest lifespan. Some tortoise species, such as the Galapagos tortoise, may live for well over 100 years, with some individuals living for more than 150 years. Crocodiles, elephants and dogs, on the other hand, have shorter lifespans. Crocodiles may live in the wild for 70 to 90 years, depending on the species. Elephants have a natural lifetime of 60 to 70 years, with some surviving longer in captivity. Dogs normally live between 10 and 15 years.
