Kalinga Prize is an award instituted by UNESCO in 1952. It is given to honour the efforts of popularisation of science. It was instituted after the donation made by Biju Patnaik, the founding president of Kalinga Foundation trust of India. Jagjit Singh was the first Indian to be awarded UNESCO's Kalinga Prize in 1963.
